HISTORY:  15 years ago, Beth saw
    an article about the one child policy in
    China and the effects on the girls.  
    Before they even got married, Dan
    and Beth wanted to adopt a girl from
    China and name her Zoe (which means
    "life").  Several years and 4 adopted
    children from the States later, they
    decided it was time to go get their
    little girl.  This is their journey
    together.
THE PROCESS:
  • AUGUST 16, 2006 decided to pursue adopting
  • SEPTEMBER 23, 2006:  applied to WACAP
  • THE PAPERWORK  
  • NOVEMBER 22, 2006:  dossier completed
  • NOVEMBER 22, 2006:  referral of Gui Zi
  • DECEMBER 4, 2006:  letter of intent (LOI)
  • DECEMBER 7, 2006:  dossier to China (DTC)
  • DECEMBER 31, 2006: Log In Date (LID)
  • FEBRUARY 12, 2007: Preapproval (PA)
  • APRIL 18, 2007:  Letter of Acceptance (LOA )
  • MAY 21, 2007: Travel Approval
  • JUNE 18,2007: "Gotcha Day" (Meet Zoe)
  • JUNE 19, 2007: Adoption Day
  • JUNE 25, 2007: Consulate Appointment
  • JUNE 12-27: Travel Dates
  • DECEMBER 18, 2007:  6 month post adoption visit
  • JUNE 18, 2008: 1 year post adoption visit
